Hold down the Space bar improves your luck for your first three rolls.
Get a Forklift
The Forklift is THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON that it is possible to get in EV without any plugins. To get it, hold down Option while clicking on the EV title or selecting "About EV" from the Apple menu. When you see "-MCB 4:35 A.M." appear, hold down Control, Command, Option, Shift, and f until you hear,"We'll try to kill with the Forklift!". When you scroll through your secondary weapons, you'll see the Forklift. CAUTION: THIS IS A VERY SLOW WEAPON!!!
Mass Expansion Cheat
Hire as many Light Freighter escorts as you can. You should then be able to go to the nearest planet with Mass Expansions and use all your cargo space for mass.
Make money in Sol
Some items (like armor) get you more money than you paid for them when you sell them.
EV Haikus
Press X when the Main Menu loads to get a window with EV haikus in it. Click to make it disappear.
Matt's Birthday
If the date on your computer is set to June 30, when you start up EV and the Main Menu loads, the bottom-left corner of the screen says,"Happy Birthday, Matt!".
Funky Balloon Help
With Balloon Help on, point the mouse at the EV icon.
Defeating Alien Cruisers
€Use the tractor beam. This prevents it from turning and makes it easy to fire on.
€Alien Fighters can also be destroyed like this, but you need a fast and powerful ship such as the Rebel Cruiser or Destroyer.
€When fighting an Alien Cruiser, stay away from the front end of the ship. Keep circling it and firing at it continuously.
